Scholarships
Sherborne Girls offers several merit-based scholarships, exhibitions and bursaries for girls registered to enter the School at 13+ and 16+.
Scholarships are available in the categories of Academic, Art & Design, Drama, Music and Sport. Eligibility for all such awards is conditional upon the candidate having satisfied the School's academic entry standards and been offered and accepted a place at the School.
It is a condition of an award that a girl completes her Sixth Form education at Sherborne Girls and maintains a high standard of work to retain the scholarship.
Scholarships and other non-means tested awards normally carry a maximum of 10% remission of the day or boarding fee (as applicable), excluding extras. This applies to single award holders and to those who are offered two awards where the maximum total remission will normally be 10%. Scholarships may also be combined with bursarial support.
Junior Scholarship Application Deadline and Dates
- 13+ Scholarship applications deadline - Friday 30 October 2026
- 13+ Art & Design, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarship assessments - Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 January 2027
- 13+ Academic Scholarship assessments - Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 February 2027 (inclusive)
Junior Scholarship Application Process
At the start of the Michaelmas term of Year 8, all parents will be emailed scholarship application forms. Parents will complete these forms to enter their daughter for an award (or awards) and indicate whether or not additional bursarial support would be required above 10%.
Once these are received back in the Admissions department, we will ensure that you receive further information about the next steps at the correct time during the Michaelmas (Autumn) term. Please note that girls applying from Prep Schools must have the agreement of their Head to apply for a Scholarship.
All scholarship applicants must complete a scholarship application form available through the Admissions Department. Completed forms must be returned to Admissions by Friday 30 October 2026 for girls entering the School in September 2027.

Sixth Form Scholarship Information
Being recognised as a scholar at Sherborne Girls is an honour and privilege. We provide an extensive Sixth Form Scholarship Programme designed to support and guide exceptional pupils across a range of disciplines, including Academic, Art and Design, Drama, Music and Sport. Girls wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be registered for entry to Lower Sixth (Year 12) in September 2027.
The 16+ Scholarship application process runs parallel to the general entry assessment schedule in November of Year 11, as successful scholars must satisfy the School's academic entry standards and also demonstrate excellence in the competitive selection processes that apply for their chosen award.
